is like a day with tons of chocolate! Just kidding. (But not really)
No students today, but never fear, the teachers were busy learning in professional developments all day.
In the morning we worked with a man named Farrell Artis, who is a specialist who works with urban schools to help them improve their scores by working together with students, teachers and parents.
He visited our classroom Monday during math and he was SO IMPRESSED with my students and their work! In fact, he used our class as an example today with the whole faculty! (We are an impressive bunch)
I took a lot of notes, but I forgot to ask permission to share them here, so check out his website and contact him! I know I came away with a lot to think about.
The second half of our professional development was spent learning about co-teaching. As of right now, only kindergarten is practicing the co-teaching model with our ESOL teachers, and that is only for an hour a day. I think that next year we will be including first grade in the co-teaching world. We'll see how it goes!
I'm excited to see my soldiers tomorrow, bright and early!
