Sharing the love of reading

Today General Delks' Army was asked to join Mrs. Watts' class during their reading time. As it turns out, Watts' kindergarten class has been practicing their writing and publishing skills. They had all written 2 books: one about shapes and the other about what they do to get ready everyday. They were so excited to get to share their books with "big kids", and we were excited to get out of our room!

Before we left our room, we talked about being good helpers and supporters of the little ones.  We were to be encouraging and interested in what they had to share. (even if that meant faking it) I made sure we all had stickers to share with our little readers to say thank you for sharing their books with us.

 Here's my partner- isn't he a cutie?

We even had our high school visitor come with us!

My students were encouraged to read with as many partners as they had stickers- and we had a lot of stickers! Thank you, Mrs. Watts' class for inviting us to share in your reading time!
