Engaging the Disengaged

On Tuesday afternoon I lead a Professional Development for the school on strategies to Engage the Disengaged student. Now, I didn't come up with these strategies myself, but I do try to use them in my classroom!

This book is full of wonderful ideas to keep students engaged without using your monthly allotment of copies!

This past summer a small team of teachers, and Mr. Evans, attended a conference in Nashville called the Achievement Gap Summit. It was mostly geared towards middle and high schools, but we left feeling like we learned something. One of the speakers was A.W.E.S.O.M.E!! His was the most popular session, and for good reason. His topic was how to keep student attention and maximize learning potential. Who wouldn't like that?
This was one of the books he endorsed. More for older students, but good information.

The professional development yesterday was on the information we gleaned from the conference. I emailed the power point presentation to my faculty, but if you would also like the information, click {HERE} to download the power point for yourself!

We're having another PD tomorrow afternoon- Blogging Made Easy! I'm pretty excited!
