We had a good time learning about landforms and bodies of water. We even learned some hand motions to go with them. I'll have to get pictures to show you how smart we are. :)

Landform Projects

Yes, this post is late in coming. I hope everyone had a turkey-filled Thanksgiving!

We started our landform projects on Monday. Students chose 3 landforms, looked up their definitions in the dictionary and wrote them on index cards, them molded the landforms from playdough. Everything dried overnight, and students painted their creations on Tuesday. Here are their finished products!

Not everyone was at school, so I did one and Mrs. Webb's daughter did one as well!

They have had the rest of the week to dry, so when we get back we will staple the index cards to the plates and place them on display. Mr. Evans and Ms. Brewer come by and checked them out and were very impressed. Way to go, Soldiers!

Landform flipbooks

The big assignment for the day combined dictionary skills with our science lesson. Students were to choose 7 landforms (from yesterday's power point), find and copy the definition from the dictionary, and create a picture of the landform. Students who followed directions and did an awesome job would be featured on not 1, not 2, but 3 blogs!

That's right! Students will be featured here on General Delk's Army, on Third Grade Thinkers, and on the school's blog for parents and teachers- CHES Press! That's how proud I am of my students!
