Day 124- March Madness (with a Vocabulary Game)

It's not all about basketball, it's the fact that we are so close to fall break, but not close enough! Just 4 more weeks.... I think I can.... I think I can.... I think I can!

In typical Monday tradition, we started whole group reading by introducing our vocabulary.

butterfly- an insect with colorful wings
caterpillar- looks like a worm, becomes a butterfly
changing- to become different
chrysalis- cocoon like, where caterpillars become butterflies
 danger- a place that's not safe, someone could get hurt
 enemies- not friends, someone who is hurtful
 nectar- sweet juice from flowers that butterflies drink
orange- a color made from combining red and yellow
suit- something you wear that all matches

I made a matching game with the vocabulary words and definitions, if you'd like a copy, you can download it {HERE}.
 In math we worked on another addition strategy: Making 10 when adding 9. Amazingly, the lesson was very similar to {THIS} post when I did a Mini Math Lesson.

We started new Literacy centers this week:

 Sentence Sort, which you can find {HERE}

** Parents- This Thursday from 5-6 is Parent Night! I would love to see everyone so I can brag on my students! Also, we need some supplies for the classroom- baby wipes, glue sticks, dry erase markers. Thanks!**
