We looked at comparing and contrasting stories.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to the art project that went with the lesson. Things kind of fell apart at the end of the day. But we can try again tomorrow!
We looked at different types of sentences!
We had the best time with this! No longer will we use the baby words of "questions", "statements", "exclamations", and "commands". We will ask interrogative sentences! We will declare all things important to us! We will exclaim with delight or despair! And we will listen to and follow imperative statements!
We watched this video to practice our exclamations.
Maybe tomorrow we can work on a little sentence sort I created last year!
You can get a copy of it {HERE}
We also worked on identifying place value, and I made sure we had a real-to-life connection.
I forgot who taught the math Professional Development a few years ago, but I remember he used "math houses" to teach place value. It worked pretty well, but we will have more practice.
See everyone tomorrow!
