Shout Out- Ms. Corbett!

Another 5th grade teacher who is doing amazing things in her classroom! Way to go, Ms. Corbett!

My students love seeing new things in the hallway, and for the past 2 days they have talked about Ms. Corbett's class' tree.

5th grade had been learning about different styles of figurative language, and my students went crazy when they recognized some onomatopoeia! (We do love our sound words!) However, I took pictures of some personification that I found.

 The rain smacked me in the face.

The flowers danced on the ground.

Wonderful! I encourage everyone to stop by and see some great examples of figurative language!

But wait! That's not all!
Not only are the kids in Ms. Corbett's class working on their writing skills, they are studying some very advanced scientific concepts in genetics. To put it simply, the students are creating a master race of.... aliens. Using their study of dominant and recessive genes, students are creating, and writing about in detail, some very interesting characters.

I don't know about you, but I'm impressed!
