Day 110- Fair warning...

When I came home tonight I had a screaming headache and sinus problems, so I'm typing this up after taking 2 Ibuprophen and a Benadryl. I'm a little out of it, and I'm going straight to bed once I'm done.

Here goes!

For our literacy center time today we reviewed last weeks vocabulary. We created 8-Squares and students were to 1. write the word, 2. put the word in a sentence, 3. illustrate the sentence. The best papers got to be pictured on the blog!

In math we started our next unit on time. Students were introduced to the words minute hand, hour hand, and o'clock. For this lesson we just focused on telling time to the o'clock.

In writing we reviewed Harriet Tubman and wrote what we remembered.

Harriet Tubman helped slaves to escape. She escaped to Canada.

Harriet Tubman got hit in the head with a rock. Harriet Tubman help people. Harriet Tubman died. Harriet Tubman help people escape. Harriet Tubman is fancy. Harriet Tubman is pretty. Harriet Tubman helped slaves. Harriet Tubman was born a slave. Harriet Tubman spy.
(Can you tell she used the adjectives chart?)

Harriet Tubman she help other people escape and go to a safe place. She was a brave girl. She was not scared.

She is pretty. She is fancy. She died. She help people escape. She help people escape to Canada.

She escape. She helped people escape. She died. Harriet Tubman was nice. They hit her in the head.

A bad man hit her head. She help people. She died. She was pretty. She is fancy.

She help other people escape from the bad guys.

Starting tomorrow we are going to be starting our unit on American Symbols. We watched a Brain Pop today on the Statue of Liberty and on What is a Symbol? Tomorrow's lesson will be on the American flag, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Of course, there will be a Power Point. :)
