Day 114- Clifton Hills gets a Little Stranger

Have you ever read the book Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger?

I read this series to my second graders last year and they loved it! Well, my day today was like the end of this story. At the end, the teacher in the story brings a little someone special to school with her. Today, I brought a little someone special with me too!

That's right! My little girl got to come to school with me today! And boy, was she spoiled! One of my soldiers in particular took my daughter under her wing.

This soldier made sure that my daughter followed in the hallway the way she was supposed to, got to her seat in the classroom, and got cleaned up when she got ranch dressing on her shirt. I don't know what I would have done without her!

We had our Valentines party today and unfortunately I didn't get any pictures. I now understand why my teachers in school hated parties. It's hectic, loud, and full of sugar. Come to think of it, that describes  my students too.
** Thank you to the moms who came to help today! Your help kept me from pulling my hair out!**
Since everyone went home smiling, I assume my students had a good time. I know I enjoyed myself, look at all the goodies my soldiers brought me!

*sigh* I'm pretty spoiled too.

But we didn't just party today, oh no. We took our spelling test (in small groups), did math addition practice (worksheet and math game), used some deductive reasoning skills (word search and Valentine maze), and learned about different aquatic animals in their natural habitat (watched Finding Nemo).
It was a very full half day!

Thank you, Soldiers for all the love! And remember, NO SCHOOL MONDAY!!
And check back tomorrow for another Celebrity Story Saturday!
